On Friday, 9th February, our Venton team attended the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards evening at the Eden Project to celebrate our Accounts Apprentice Holly’s nomination! The event, run annually by Truro and Penwith College, took place at Eden for the very first time, with the biggest ever audience and line-up of categories - 48 shortlisted learners, mentors and employers across 18 categories. The beautifully decorated space was filled with an audience of 200, entertained by music students from the college for arrival drinks. We found our seats at Table No. 1 and were treated to an amazing four-course dinner, with three courses prepared and served from Eden Project kitchens followed by petits fours made by students in the training kitchens at Truro and Penwith College.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet other local businesses and celebrate the role of apprenticeships here in Cornwall - something we wholeheartedly support at Venton and are looking forward to growing in the future. Holly was ‘Highly Commended’ in the Accountancy category and we are super proud of her for being recognised as part of the top three! Holly started her career as a registered pharmacy technician but decided on a different career path in accountancy to achieve a better work/life balance. Her passion for accounts shone through as soon as she joined the team at Venton, where she continues her studies and supports clients at the same time. We’d like to thank all the organisers for a fantastic evening, and we hope to be in attendance again next year, perhaps with the next Venton apprentice(s)! Comments are closed.
